Last post

Yesterday,I went to Out back, which is Australian restaurant with my friend.

I went to study abroad in Australia with her, so this situation reminds me of that good days vividly.

The menu of this restaurant is all Australian style and also the same size!!

It was too many for us, so we couldn't eat it all.

Especially, the cheese cake is at least twice as large as Japanese one.

Then, I noticed that the time has passed about 1years since my study abroad.

I feel how time filed now.

And,this year will end , and New year will come soon.

I wish we would have good days also next year!!

Good bye~~

My birthday*

I've just turned 21 on December 12th. My brother's also turned 11 on December 1st.
I get 3 whole cakes in December!! yah!! That's why I love December.
On my birthday, I went to Minamichita, Aichi, to do strawberry hunting with my friend. After we ate them, we counted how many calyxes do we have then. I found that I've eaten 50 strawberries! Isn't it too many? and then, we went to the Pacific Ocean and we picked up lovely shells. Salt breeze made me feel good.
That's was great birthday:)

By the way, it's almost the end of year, I cannot believe it. Time moves so fast.
Here is resolutions in 21 years old.

Be positive. Try not to be negative.
Try to do thing that I've never done before.
Kind to others.
Be more mature.
Get a good job.

My friends are busy this time 'cause they have to do job-hunting. It's not good timing to get a job because of huge bankrupts in America. My friends, hang in there!

Job hunting

Yestrerday, I went to the event concerning job hunting because I'm a junior now.

I wore a suit and listened to company recruiter saying there.

I'm not used to do that, so was very tired.

Recentry such opportunities are increasing, and I 'm getting busy.

Now I'm interested in travel agency.

That's simply I like to travel, and I think the job is challenging.

When I went to study abroad, I met a Taiwanise woman who works at travel agency.

When she talked to me the story about her job, I feel that she takes enjoyment in her work.

At the same time I got interested in it.

Christmas

Michigan State has christmas break from dec 13 until jan 11 which means that for a whole month there's no school or homework and I am able to go home. Since I live in Hawaii I have to take a plane home and the flight takes about 14 hours. What I dont like about flying home is that not only is the flight really long but I have to watch all my luggage when im in the airport. Additionally, if anything goes wrong, like the plane breaking down resulting in a long layover, i have to make all those reservations myself. I guess that this is an opportunity for me to grow up and learn to take care of things on my own, but still, it would be nice to have someone else there to chat with.
However, once I get home I plan on having an amazing Christmas break. I will get to spend time with my brother and sister who are growing up so fast. Especially my brother. Hes 12 right now and is getting taller everyday. when i left for school in august he was shorter than me and now my mom told me hes about 3.5 inches taller than me. He wants to go to the movies and do kid stuff so hes looking forward to me coming home. My sister is now a junior in high school and she just wants to go shopping so when i go home i get to drive her around. Im looking forward to seeing my parents as well. I miss them a lot and while im at home i can help them out around the house with cooking and cleaning in addition to doing some of the "soccer mom" duties and shopping. Overall i think it's going to be a great break and Im looking forward to it.

Teriyaki burger

Do you like Japanese food?

Basiclly, most of Japanese food tastes sweet. We mix soy sause and suger when we cook.

The good example is Teriyaki.

We have Teriyaki burger, yey!!
It tastes sweet, with mayonnaise.
When I was child, every time I go to the Macdnald's, I used to order this one.

If you have time to come Japan, just try it.

Food

What is your favorite food?I really like Sushi and Yakiniku!!It's a Japanese food, so you probably don't know these food very much.

Today, we can enjoy eatting many kind of food.
For example, Chinese food, Italian food, French food and so on.
I also like European food such as hamburger steak, a gratin.
However, I like Japanese food after all because I'm Japanese.

When I was in Australia, I cooked Japanese food ,"Chirashizushi "(It's like Sushi) for my hostfamily.I wanted they to know our culture, but that was so difficult.
Most Japanese prefer to eat rice because it's a staple diet for them, however, Australian culture was differnt from Japan. So, my hostfamily couldn't eat Chirashizushi.

I was surprised and feel sad, but it was interesting finding for me.

First Date

Christmas is getting close.
I often see Christmas decorations and couple walk down the street recently.
In Japan, most of people spend the Chirstmas day with boyfriend or girlfriend.

We taked about the first date in this week.
Many people said that going to restaurant is the best on the first date, also I think.
In my case, first of all I want to talk a lot about each other ,so I think restraurant is the best place than every other place.

What do you think about that?

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving is coming up in like 2 weeks and I think its going to be a great break from normal school life. 4 whole days of rest with no school, just chilling. However, I will not be with my family this Thanksgiving. It's too inconvenient to fly home and then turn around and fly back and a little too expensive as well. So I might be at my aunt's, however she hasn't officially invited me yet so i might not be there. I'm not 100% positive where I'm going to be but oh well. Thanksgiving food is delicious. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. Im not a real big fan of mashed potatoes or cranberry sauce. And I could do without turkey as well. but i love stuffing and pumpkin pie. The best part about Thanksgiving however is black friday! Shopping shopping and more shopping. Everywhere you go there is a sale and tons of cute stuff to buy. So Thanksgiving will come and go and two weeks later, I'll be on a plane heading home for a month or real relaxation. Can't wait!

The things that we want to do on the first date

Obama's win. Are you excited about that?

Today, I would like to talk about relationship.

What do you like your date to go on the first date?

Almost everyone like to go a restaurant in our class (all japanese girls) on the first date.

What about in America?

For me, in this season, I would like to go some famous places of colourd leaves.

I don't like fall very much cause I feel little lonely this time, but going to see colourd leaves is the only one thing that I like.

I'll go to see them next week with my friend in Toyota. I'll upload the photos.

My friends

This weekend, my friends from Tokyo and Osaka came to Nagoya to sightseeing. Actually they are dating, so I felt like awkward little but we are close friends, so it was ok.

First, we went to Osu which has Japanese old style shopping mall and a lot of souvenirs for tourists. After we ate popular Nagoya's Ramen, we went to Nagoya castle.Even though I've lived in Nagoya since I was born, I've never been to Nagoya castle's inside. Nagoya castle is famous for the syachihoko monuments on the top of it. and these are symbol of Nagoya.

We had miso fravour ice cream, which was not taste good.

Finally, we went to center of Nagoya ,called Oasis21. That was pretty sight.
Why don't you come to Nagoya once?

When you come, let me know.

Television

Even though school keeps me very busy, I still find time to watch TV. However, I usually watch episodes of my favorite TV shows on the internet when I have the time. =) My favorite TV show is "Pushing Daisies." It's the story about a man who owns a pie shop. The man, Ned, has a special ability; he can touch something and bring it back to life, but if he touches it for a second time, it's dead forever. In the first episode, we find out that Ned has been using his ability to touch murder victims and find out how they have died. The murder victim of his first episode is his childhood girlfriend, Chuck. He touches Chuck, but allows her to live and then they begin a relationship. Each episode has a mystery murder that must be solved. It is a very cute and entertaining show; if you get the chance, you should watch it.

This Coming November

As October ends, it has become very cold. Riding my bike to class is becoming more and more difficult everyday, but because it's so much faster and cheaper than taking the bus, I stick to it. I'm hoping it will snow, if only to put a pretty picture to the cold air and make it somewhat nicer. I cannot wait to go tubing at Burchfield Park and have spontaneous snowball fights around campus. This semi-fall and semi-winter weather is just plain confusing.
I am very excited about this coming Thanksgiving as I just found out I will be flying to Maryland. Unfortunately, I may have to miss a couple days of Japanese class to do so. I will be spending the vacation with Andrew's family, my future in-laws. It should be both amusing and awkward, as most family meetings tend to be. Wish me luck!

18 Years in the Making

Saturday October 25, 2008 was an amazing day. It started out kinda cold, windy and drizzling, however by 6:45 pm the cold and rain didn't mean very much as the Michigan State Spartans walked away with the W against the Michigan Wolverines. Kickoff was at 3:30pm and so it began. The last time the Spartans won in the Big House was in 1990. The last time they beat Michigan was in 2001. This was a big deal. The 6-2 Spartans stepped onto the field ready to claim the Paul Bunyan Trophy and claim it they did. Going into the half it was tied at 14-14. In the beginning of the third Michigan scored, leading 21-14 in the third until Michigan State tied it up at 21 to end the third. The fourth quarter was all about State. Two more touchdowns clinched the Spartan's victory over the Wolverines for the first time in a long time. This game was a big one, probably the most important one of the entire season and instead of hanging on to last weeks loss against Ohio State, the Spartans sucked it up and stepped up to the plate. The only regret I have about this game is that I was not able to attend such a momentous event in the Big House. So all you Spartans, remember Mike Hart's words from last year, about how Michigan State is Michigan's little brother and remember that little brothers do grow up and when they do, watch out. Cuz in cases such as this one, the little brother grew up better and stronger than his older brother and when payback time came around it was the older brother who fell. It's truly a great day to be a Spartan. GO GREEN!!!!!!!!

non verbal communication

Hi^^

This post is kind of homework from last week.

This semester, I'm taking ''Non verbal communication'' class. It's so interesting, and I like it.

Do you know? People judge people if who they are, from the face while they're talking and the quality of voice or jesture . Not from words, the words tell them only 7%.

For example,

There's a woman who waiting her boyfriend on a bench. It's almost 3 o'clock.
They supposed to meet in front of the bench at 3.
In a few minites later, he was coming.
he said ''I'm sorry''
and she said ''It's fine''
but she seems mad.
''Are you mad at me or something?''
''No, that's fine. I don't care at all.''
even though she said that it's fine.
This is non verval communication. interesing, isn't it?

In Japanese culture, people should read other people's feeling all the time. There's some people who don't do it though...

It's sometimes though for me, but I like that part of Japanese culture.

Cake

Hi~

Today I went to a cafe near my house with my friends.
My town is a little handy because there are many food shops.

We chatted about job hunting and school life over tea.
There were many cakes there, we also ordered a cake.
I love sweets, so was very happy!

By the way, my mother's birthday is coming soon.
I will give somthing by hand to her.

I think I will make a birthday cake.
But I have no idea what cakes should I make.

What kind of cakes do you like?

Can you give me a hand about it ??

Kinmokusei

Hello!

Hi! I'm Mai.

I'm studying International communication at Sugiyama woman's university.

So, I'm interested in English and foreign culture very much.

In this spring vacation, I went to Australia to study English for 2 month.

I could go to the tourist attraction such as Gold Coast and Fraser Island with my friends.

It was a precious memory.

I have 2 part-time job, clothes shop and Japanese bar.

Each job is hard, but I'm pleased about them.

Hi!!

Hi everyone(*^▽^*) How's it going?
I'm Sakura,(it means cherry blossum in Japanese) and I'm in Sugiyama Univ 2nd grade.
I'm majoring in International communication, I'm studying English and French. I love studying languages, cause it's fun. I'm also interested in Korean, I totally don't understand it yet though.
I've lived in Canada, Vancouver last year for about 9 month stydying English. Then, I've been to Rocky mountains, and these mountains coverd with snow on the top were soooo beautiful !! If I have time, I'll go there again.

I like taking photos and listening to music, especially the songs by Avril Lavigne.
Watermelons is my favorite fruit. White and Pink are my favourite colours.

Anyway, Nice to see you on this blog^^
